  • Read mentor text for the week: Analyze it in relation to Sensory Language.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Practice Identifying Sensory Language: Notes/Anchor Chart/Categories.
  • Pumpkin Sensory Writing Activity

Wednesday – October 18

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Writing Journal– Title: “Would You Rather Wednesday” — Would you rather give up air conditioning and heat for the rest of your life or give up the Internet for the rest of your life? Tell me why.
  • Flocabulary: Sensory Language in Text

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Write a Fall Sensory Poem – Brain-storm/Rough Draft/Peer Edit

Thursday – October 19

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Writing Journal– Title: “Think About It Thursday” – Imagine your school is considering making all students wear uniforms. Do you agree or disagree?

Friday – October 20

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your daily journal–Title:  “FriYay”– Write down a memory, quote, phrase, or positive thought that makes you feel Happy and add it to our “JOY JAR”.  Please use complete sentences and keep it school appropriate.
  • Continue Reading our fall novel series.
