Monday – November 6

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in Daily Journal–Title: “Motivational Monday”  – Read this quote, and then answer these questions: What is gratitude? What does this quote mean?  “Gratitude is an antidote to negative emotions, a neutralizer to envy, hostility, worry, and irritation.” -Sonya Linbomirsky
  • Read Mentor Text – song lyrics “My Favorite Things”
  • Using descriptive language, figurative language, sensory language, or adjectives, describe Mrs. Griffith’s favorite objects that she brought from home.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Writing assignment 2.4 – Using descriptive language, figurative language, sensory language, or adjectives, compose a list of 10 of your favorite things.

Tuesday – November 7

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Daily Journal–Title:  “Tasty Tuesday”  There are many different ways to have your eggs cooked or prepared for breakfast. Some examples of  how you can cook your eggs are scrambled, boiled, an omelet, over easy, or eggs in a basket.  How do you prefer your eggs? Have you ever eaten them more than one way?
  • With your partner complete the vocabulary 3.4 assignment for the Mentor Text – “My Favorite Things”

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Review RACE strategy and practice answering questions about our Mentor text – “My Favorite Things”

Wednesday – November 8

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Daily Journal– Title: “Would You Rather Wednesday”– If you could have a new sibling added to your family, would you rather have a new brother or a new sister?  Explain your answer.
  • Start making flip book study aide/Fig. Lan.
  • Using study aide, quiz each other using flip book.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Finish making flip book study aide/Fig. Lan.
  • Flocabulary assignment – Video/Vocabulary/Quiz

Thursday – November 09

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your Daily Journal– Title: “Think About It Thursday” If you had a time machine that could take you back to ANY place in time, what event would you chose to visit? Explain why you chose this event.
  • Finish making flip book study aide/Fig. Lan.
  • Research a thoughtful or inspiring quote on the internet that speaks to you, then copy it down. Write your thoughts down in your “Thought Journal” for 10 minutes.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Complete your Book Talk worksheet.
  • Vocabulary Quiz
  • All assignments from the week due.

Friday – November 10

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your daily journal–Title:  “Thankfulness”– Tell me at least one thing you are thankful for.  
  • Continue reading our novel series as a class.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Book Talk to Mrs. Griffith
  • Finish all unfinished assignments from the week.
