Tuesday – November 14

2nd Period

  • Writing Warm-up: Respond to the following prompt in your Daily Journal–Title:  “Tasty Tuesday”  – Suppose you can invite one special person, living or dead,  famous or average, from any point in history to be a guest at your family’s Thanksgiving dinner this year. Who would you invite and why?
  • Rough draft/Peer editing for our Collective Noun Writing Project – “Pet Town”

  • Flocabulary – Collective Nouns

Wednesday – November 15

2nd Period

  • Writing Warm-up: Respond to the following prompt in your Daily Journal– Title: “Would You Rather Wednesday”– Would you rather win a year’s supply of peanut M&M’s or of plain M&M’s?  Why?
  • Finish revising, editing and publishing your final draft – Collective Noun Writing Project – “Pet Town”

Thursday – November 16

2nd Period

  • Writing Warm-up: Respond to the following prompt in your Daily Journal– Title: “Tradition Thursday”  Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions? What does your family do for Thanksgiving? 
  • Watch movie version of our book.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Thankful Thursday Fun Writing Assignment: Adjectives In Action – Using your senses, sensory language, taste, color, texture, and opinion adjectives, assess and describe different types of M&M’s. Record your data and descriptions on the Data Preference Sheet
  • Watch movie version of our book.

Friday – November 17

2nd Period

  • Writing Warm-up: Respond to the following prompt in your daily journal–Title:  “FriYay”– Write down a memory, quote, phrase, or positive thought that makes you feel Happy and add it to our “JOY JAR”.  Please use complete sentences and keep it school appropriate.
  • Watch movie version of our book.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Finish watching the movie version of our book.
