Monday – September 18

2nd Period

*Library Day – 6th Grade 

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Introduce and read the Mentor Text for the week.
  • Complete Anchor Chart/Notes/Word Wall Words
  • Use the Word Wall Words and define each in your writing journal.

Tuesday – September 19

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your daily writing journal –Title: “Tasty Tuesday” When choosing a favorite or least favorite food, do you tend to be more picky about taste or more picky about texture? Explain your answer.
  • Continue Figurative Language Study – Alliteration
  • Practice writing sentences or phrases using alliteration as a class.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Partner work 
  • Complete assignment on Quizizz over Alliteration

Wednesday – September 20

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in Google daily writing journal– Title: “Would You Rather Wednesday?” Would you rather be stranded in a desert or be stuck in an elevator? Tell me why.
  • Start Figurative Language Project from “Eleven”

Thursday – September 21

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in daily writing journal–Title: “Think About It Thursday” If you could change one thing about your school day, what would your change?
  • Continue Figurative Language Project from “Eleven”
  • Illustrate it.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Start filling out Book Report/Book Talk Sheet

Friday – September 22

2nd Period

  • Respond to the following prompt in your daily writing journal–Title:  “FriYay”– Write down a memory, quote, phrase, or positive thought that makes you feel Happy and add it to our “JOY JAR”.  Please use complete sentences and keep it school appropriate.
  • Continue reading our novel series as a class.

7th Period

  • SSR Reading
  • Complete your Book Report/Book Talk to Mrs. G.
